Do You....Comment

I usually like to leave comments on other peoples blogs. It is the whole thing about community in blogging. That's probably why I like following guys like 'los versus the big time blogging pastors who don't have comments on their blogs.

Why do you leave or not leave comments on other people's blogs?

I actually did a post on a similar topic to this a little while back:

I like to comment on other blogs when I have something to add to the conversation. I like the open sharing of ideas and conversation that we are able to have over blogs.

I leave comments for a few reasons: if the post makes me think; hits me in a different way; in appreciation for honesty/authenticity/taking risks; for networking; getting others to click on and check my blog---I love the community of blogging. I've met so many people and have had great conversations, simply through blogging!!!

I don't comment often - not really sure why - probably because I don't get to read as frequently as I'd like to. If I read a post that's a few days old I feel like my comments would be to late to really add to the conversation.

BTW on your question from July 2; I agree with you - the grass is greener when it has some fertilizer. I've seen it in my own life - I always grow more when I go through the tough stuff.

Keep up the good work.

I comment for several reasons...here are my top three:

1) Community...first and foremost I love to interact with others. Just like Rindy said, I've made some great friends also.

2) When I can add value to the post after they have asked for feedback.

3) When it's a topic that interests me.

I try to comment as much as possible because I want to let the person know that I'm reading and supporting. I love getting comments on my blog so I figure others do too. Sometimes I don't have as much time to comment as I would like and sometimes I just don't have anything to add, but I try to comment as much as possible.
